The long thin island across the lagoon from the famous San Marco square, just a ten minute water bus trip away. The Lido, the only venetian island where cars are allowed, can also be reached from the mainland by car ferry. Safe and friendly, the largely residential lido has long stretches of sandy beaches located on the Adriatic coast.
