The Lake of Como is the third largest lake in Italy and represents one of the most impressive panorama of italian peninsula. The presence of rugged barren mountains alternate with grassy slopes that plunge into the water, creating a varied and sublime landscape. For this reason the lake has been extoled during the XIX century from the greatest romantic poets such as Alessandro Manzoni, Byron and Stendhal who falled in love with this place for its “romantic beauty, a bit gloomy and Nordic, but at the same with solar Italic visions”. Not very far from Milan, the Lake of Como is a perfect place to spend a relaxing holiday, maybe staying in the luxurious villas overlooking the clear water of the lake.
